Delft Imaging has formalized a development partnership with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH for COVID-19 response in Indonesia. Together with our partners  Thirona,  Fullerton Health Indonesia, IDBH Senso, and Faculty of Medicine of Universitas Indonesia, we will strengthen COVID-19 screening capacity by introducing a digital screening platform with the CAD4COVID-XRay artificial intelligence software and SAM (Screening–Analytics-Management) platform[1].

The project objective is to strengthen COVID-19 screening capacity for employee health programs and help respond to high demand for COVID-19 screening from key business communities in Indonesia such as mining and manufacturing industries located in remote areas. The project aims to screen 4,000 employees, families, and people in local communities and will contribute to ensuring employee’s health, safety, and business continuity as well as maintaining local economies.

Under the project, CAD4COVID-XRay will enable early triage and screening of COVID-19 before RT-PCR, and the SAM platform will manage results under the integrated platform. Additionally, the project will ensure knowledge transfer and capacity building for digital health tools including artificial intelligence software and digital patient management platform for health workers and experts in Indonesia.

This project will contribute to mitigating the COVID-19 crisis and also to achieving SDGs (Goal 3: Good health care, Goal 8: Decent work and economic growth, and Goal 17: Partnership for sustainable development).

This development partnership is part of the programme that the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH implements on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

[1] SAM (Screening-Analytics-Management) platform has originally been developed to support TB (tuberculosis) management, but it customized for COVID-19 case management. SAM enables users to seamlessly integrate patients’ key information (such as age, gender, symptoms, date & results of X-ray images, COVID-19 score, laboratory test results) under one platform and produce each patient’s full report as well as dashboard for overview. SAM is very simple and easy to use, and ensures that all important data are securely and properly are available in one place.
