In Uganda, an estimated 90,000 people fell sick with TB in 2020. Globally, Uganda is one of the countries that have a high burden of TB.
To accelerate case detection and further save the lives of the Ugandan people, Infectious Disease Institute Makarere University installed CAD4TB in tertiary hospitals in Gulu, Lira, and Kitgum, serving a combined population of more than one million people.
The implementation of the use of CAD4TB is ongoing, and this study will pave the way for its future in Uganda and inform its broader application, particularly in rural towns.
So far, 406 people with TB have been put on treatment.
