Eswatini battles TB with Delft’s Solutions
The total population of Eswatini totaled approximately 1 million people in 2020. In that year, 3,700 estimated people developed TB. Among them, 300 were children. That same year, there were 1,557 missing people with TB (201 were children).
In early 2016, the National Tuberculosis Programme of Eswatini procured an OneStopTB clinic to screen about 100,000 inhabitants. We also delivered two Easy Portable X-rays to reach the remotest areas in the mountainous country.
In 2018, Delft Imaging had the pleasure to deliver two EasyPortable X-ray systems to the National Emergency Response Council on HIV and AIDS (NERCHA) in Eswatini. The project included the supply of two EasyPortable X-ray systems, powerpacks, protective lead items (gloves, lead shielding, glasses and aprons). The project also included the necessary installation, commissioning training and maintenance services.
Making a difference
Initially, it took days to detect and diagnose active TB. The triage through CAD4TB reduced this time to two hours.
